Then the next day after church, we headed to the Witte Museum to see their new exhibit on Leonardo da Vinci. If you are going to be in the San Antonio area anytime soon, I highly recommend it! It was so cool to see small reproductions of the machines he designed hundreds of years ago. He is credited with the early technology that led to the ball bearing, the bicycle chain, hangliding, the military tank, helicopters, irrigation systems, and more. He had some crazy writing, but was obviously a genius way ahead of his time. The best part was a section called "Leonardo's Workshop" where you could play with all kinds of stuff. We shot ping pong balls out of a catapult, built a dome out of foam bricks, drew portraits of each other, and built a self-supporting bridge that he designed for the battlefield. And to top it all off, your daddy finally gave in to his desires and bought himself a Wii game system. Who knows if it will still be cool when you are old enough to play it, but for now, it is the newest greatest thing. We have played tennis, golf, baseball, billiards, ping pong, and more. We hope that it will be something fun for our friends and family to all do together. If we can find it, I think your daddy would also like to get the software for Wii Fit so we can exercise with it. I might even make him do yoga!
Yesterday I went to the doctor for another checkup, and your daddy even left work early to come with me. I love getting to see my doctor because she is always very encouraging and sympathetic. She said I am doing well so far, and that my iron levels were just barely off from the normal. Nothing wrong with taking the extra supplement though. She was a little surprised when I told her I was curious about measuring estimated birth weight since I was such a big baby. (This chunky monkey weighed 9 lbs. 8 oz!) So we will schedule another ultrasound at 37 weeks to get a good look at you again. Other than that, she said that we are doing great and to keep it up!
