The "Mom" Cut

Disclaimer: I have told Bo before that "anything you say, can and will be used against you in a court of BLOG."

Yesterday I just went for it. I have been thinking of cutting my hair for quite some time now. It is just so thick and takes forever to fix. I was originally going for something like this:

My hair stylist was shocked. I have had the same cut in varying lengths for about 3 years now. I told her I was just up for a change. So we chopped off about 5 inches! It seriously looked like a wig laying on the floor when I stood up. But I feel lighter, my hair feels healthier, and I could blowdry it last night in less than 10 minutes. Hallelujah!

So I was all excited to get home and show it off to my mom and Bo. About 5 minutes from home, he calls me to ask me to get him a part at Home Depot... So I turn around and have to sprint through the parking lot in the rain. Needless to say, it wasn't looking so hot when I got home. I walk in the front door, and they are all standing in the kitchen. My mom goes, "Ohhh, let me see! It's cute!"

And then Bo says, "Oh, you got your mom cut." We have had conversations before about how when women have children, they end up chopping their hair off. So when he says this, my crazy hormonal mind starts interpreting those three words to mean:
1. You are no longer young and sexy.
2. You don't have time to make yourself look nice anymore, so go for what is fast and easy.
3. I hate it.

He could tell how much it hurt my feelings and apologized (multiple times) later. But I guess this is the first time Bo has had to learn this lesson. When your wife (who is already overly-sensitive about her post-baby looks) comes home with a new haircut, even if it is a mullet, you should tell her that it looks fabulous. And that she should celebrate it with new shoes.

Poor Bo...I bet he really did love it, he just said the wrong words.
I bet you look gorgeous, and besides...a change is fun and needed every now and then! :) I just cut my hair short, and I don't even have kids! :) hehe
