Hi Angel,
Yesterday your mommy was so tired and drained that we decided to take a "Mental Health Day" and stay home from work. We stayed in bed until 9:30 (you were awake, but happy) and then headed to see Mrs. Cara late in the day so Mommy could still get some errands done. Laundry was piling up everywhere and we had no groceries... I just needed to have a Saturday on a Tuesday. So we did! I am sure you are thrilled to know that I finally bought you the next size up in socks. They said they would go up to 6 months, but apparently those long feet of yours are ahead of the curve. The 6 - 12 months size is a bit big, but at least they stay on.
Then today, you had to go to the doctor for your four-month check up. Get this: You weighed 15 lbs. and 4 oz! You are suddenly in the 90th percentile for weight... Oh well, you are just very healthy. You are also 22 and 3/4 inches long, which means you are well on your way to outgrowing your car seat, Little Miss! We are going to have to buy at least two so that we can leave one with Cara. It would be such a pain to have to switch it out twice every day!
The worst part of the doctor's visit was, of course, your shots. You had to get three today, and you were such a good girl. The nurse was holding your little (okay, chunky) legs down and you were just looking so content, but after that first stick, your face slowly changed from peaceful to confused to ticked off! I couldn't help but laugh a little bit. (Does that make me horrible?) You just looked so adorably sad. But as soon as I scooped you up and gave you your bottle, you were just fine. You are such a tough one! It was so wonderful to have your Daddy there with us to keep you entertained. He is so sweet to come since it is pretty much all mommies in the waiting room! How could you not be a Daddy's girl when he loves you that much?
The doctor also told us that now that you are old enough, we can start trying to feed you solid (actually, totally mush) foods. We already have some rice cereal that Aunt Rachael gave us since Emerson hated it.... I guess we will start trying that at least one time a day until you decide you like it and actually swallow some. Then we will try to work our way up to some fruits and vegetables. I finally get to put my Christmas present food processor to good use! I can't wait to get those "messy face" pictures. I can't believe you are already moving on to that phase. Mommy can't keep up!
