Mommy doesn't really think that you will be too concerned about this since you haven't really understood the previous one, but Daddy is going to change jobs. Though his old job pays very well and is in a nice air-conditioned building, Daddy has really missed having the friendships and sense of purpose that comes with teaching and coaching. He is accepting an offer to teach 7th grade science and coach 8th grade football at Lopez Middle School. Where he will be a Panther!
And for all you Anchorman fans, I really want to get him this shirt....
The good news is that we hope Daddy will be very happy and be a great teacher and mentor to the students. He is so funny and smart and dedicated that we know he will make a wonderful addition to the campus staff. The bad news is that we sort of don't know what we are getting ourselves into. He is unfortunately missing football camp this week because he didn't get an offer soon enough to give two weeks' notice to his old job, and he really thought that would be disrespectful to leave them in the lurch. He might have to be at school super early and he might have to work late after practices. (So please be nice to Mommy in the car, since now it is just us again!) He might start wearing a WHOLE LOT of navy.
I just want you to know that Daddy and I always think about what is best for our family when it comes to these decisions. And even though he might miss out on a few things this fall, he is so super excited about the opportunity to be home with you more on holidays and in the summer. (Except Mommy doesn't get that much vacation time, so it is a big fat reminder that he will get paid to be home and I won't!) I know you will be his biggest fan and that his players will think you are adorable. I can already picture you and me cheering at games (up until about 8:00) and wearing little Panther t-shirts. We won't tell them that you are probably going to be going to school in a totally different district when you are older. :)
Just so you know, we totally timed this whole moving and job thing on purpose. Just for fun, we like to pile it all together at once and go crazy!
Hooray for Bo! As tired as he might be at the end of the day, he will feel so fulfilled, and in my opinion, that's the best feeling in the world! :)
