Turkey, Pie, Ham and Sweet Taters!

Outside our house, it is beginning to look like a beautiful fall...

Inside our house is not looking so beautiful.

Last week we discovered a puddle of water was seeping out from the wall of the hot water heater closet into our living room. Bo hurried and removed the baseboard, sopped everything up with towels and shut off the hot water heater after we realized we had no clue where the water was coming from. Two days (and about $3,000) later, we had a pipe in our slab cut off and a new hot water heater installed in our pantry to avoid having to bust up our floors and reroute it. Easy fix, but we still need to get the walls repaired. Sigh.

So we hightailed it to Abilene that Wednesday night to relax with family and enjoy Thanksgiving (multiple times). First up was lunch at your daddy's mom's house where we were so happy to see your Uncle Ryan and Uncle Jordan.

You were so happy to try all the new foods and took a serious nap right afterwards. The makeshift ball pit that your Savta made must have worn you out!

Then we headed to your Gigi's family dinner, where she fed you your first piece of pumpkin pie. You definitely were busting out the sign for "MORE" on that one!

You had such a great time seeing your Grandpa and Uncle Tanner and Uncle Chance. Plus, your Great Grandpa "Stumpy" and Great Grandma Jody were so impressed with your sweet nature and easy going attitude. You loved getting to play her piano since you had never seen one before. Here's hoping you are musically inclined!

We had a Friday gathering with all of Mommy's family, where we ate the most incredible sweet potatoes I have ever had. I think I could have just filled my whole plate with them! You tried a bit of everything. I wish I would have taken more pictures (as always) but here is a cute one of you in your festive leaves dress!

We had a wonderful time seeing everyone and especially missed Aunt Amy, Mina and Miriam who are still in Costa Rica. We get to spend the whole week after Christmas with them, so we are counting down the days until they get here.

More than just food and fun, we try to keep a spirit of thankfulness in our hearts all year long. And when some people go crazy in the spending and "holiday" shopping, we want to remember that Christmas is just around the corner and that we should be thankful for the gift of Jesus Christ, born to us as a perfect lamb.

I remember holding my own tiny baby just last year... How thankful I am for you and all the joy and laughter you bring into our lives, Cameron.
