Michaelangelo, Move Over

Peanut,
This week is going by so fast, I haven't even had time to think about blogging. Saturday your daddy gave in and came shopping with me and somehow didn't blow a gasket when we came home with a beautiful hand-tied wool rug. I have been wanting to upgrade the living room for a long time and finally found a good deal! Hopefully it will be a much softer alternative to the rug we have had for way too long. Joe Dog certainly seems to like it!

So Sunday afternoon we decided to go crazy and start painting your room. We still have a lot of junk in there that we need to organize and put away in the attic, but you now have three lovely chocolate brown walls and one in a sweet baby pink! We have painted for the last three nights straight, and I am exhausted! We still might need one more coat of pink since your daddy is convinced it is too light. (He is not a huge fan of pastels...) But we already have the curtains your Grammy made you and I can't wait to arrange your furniture! It will actually start to look like a room meant for a baby girl! Someone said to me that they couldn't believe that I will probably be holding you in my arms in just 9 weeks, and it totally weirded me out! I looked into the backseat of my car just yesterday and pictured you in your little car seat. It's sort of a fuzzy dream right now, but it will be coming true so soon.

This weekend will be our first baby shower back in Abilene, so we are excited to get to see so many friends and family. Thank goodness your daddy will be driving us there in the big comfy pickup! I have also been trying to get a little gift ready for all of the sweet ladies that are helping plan the shower for you. I hope they love chocolate as much as you and I do!

Alright, alright. Gotta get some work done. These are the busiest few weeks at my job, so I am running all over the place. It is strange to plan things knowing that I won't be here to finish out the semester... But the thought of being home with you sounds so wonderful!
