Welcome to this Decade!

I am very excited to say that our kitchen remodel is underway! You may remember the before pictures from this post, and our cabinets were not in bad shape. You could just tell that they were as old as me. Not exactly my style!

So we were recommended a great cabinet guy by a friend (thanks Natalie!) who gave us a much more reasonable price to just replace the old doors with new ones. The only downside is that he is not a painter, so we have to hire someone else to sand down the existing framework and stain all the cabinets to the nice dark brown stain that we want. For now they look a little funny because the woods don't go together at all, but I am excited nonetheless. I think the end result is going to be spectacular!

So here is the section right next to the stove, with two big brand new drawers for post and pans.

And this section is next to the fridge, and has one of my favorite things ever...
The hidden trash and recycling bins!

And here is what the top cabinets look like at the moment. I have to go pick out the frosted glass to go in the doors, but I was very pleased with the trim that Rick thought to add at the top and bottom just to dress things up a bit.

Much more sleek and modern. I can't wait to get the stain on and really make everything look perfect!
