Cheating, Just a Smidge
Cameron,
Mommy is sorry that I am a bit behind on the blog. I think I am super late in saying that you turned seventeen months old, and you are already on your way to being eighteen months! So I am cheating just a smidge and writing you in the middle of the month.
You have been so busy and active lately. You still love to take baths and steal everyone's goldfish at snack time. You are a great walker and are so adorable when you attempt to "hop" like Joe Dog does when he wants his dinner. Mostly you just make it up on your tip-toes. But you are starting to jog a bit when you want to hurry and your short little legs seem to just wobble like a penguin from side to side rather than bending and extending. I am sure Daddy will work on your form later with some personal training drills.
Your latest phrase that has us smitten is when we ask you where something is and you put your little hands up and say, "I-o know." Your tone is so innocent and sweet and Daddy tries to get you to say it all the time. You also have learned lots of body parts including your elbow, neck, back, and knuckles. Grandpa taught you to give him "knuckles" when we were there for Easter and it's funny to hear you say "Nuck!"
I am really excited about some of your new toys and books that are for big girls! I have been wanting to get you some bristle blocks since you always enjoyed Ainslee's and I found a cute set at Target. I also got a great deal on two Eric Carle books that have cute split pages to help you learn some simple words and colors. Very grown up! And they keep you busy in the car. :)
We have to head to the doctor for another check up in a few weeks, but I am pretty sure you weigh over 25 pounds now. You would completely look like a toddler except for your big tummy, which may disappear some with your next growth spurt. You are already wearing the 18-24 month size in Gymboree, so we need you to grow up and not out!
Love you, honey bun!
Mama
