Worrying Isn't Worth It

Miss C,
Thank you for being so wonderfully healthy and back to normal this week. The days are passing quickly because I seem to constantly have the same thing on my mind (and I think it is driving your daddy crazy...) When will our house sell? Personally, I think it looks fabulous. We have finished all our to-do lists and are keeping it perfectly clean EVERY DAY. We come home and try not to make a big mess. We leave and make sure every thing is put away so that the rooms look spacious and neat. And of course, we try browsing for houses online every once in a while. I look at them and think, "How could I decorate and change this? Does it have good potential or is it just 100% ugly?"

I worry that the road construction around our house will deter people from coming. I worry that someone will buy it too fast and we will have no idea where we are moving too. I worry that no one will buy it at all and I will die from cleaning exhaustion. Let's just say that I worry too much.

And you are just as happy as a lark. Smiling and laughing when Daddy teases you and says, "Hold you, hold you" just like you say to us all the time. It is my favorite thing you say now, even though it sort of sounds more like "old Jew" most of the time. We are going to work on being PC when you are older.

So I have decided to make up my mind and quit worrying. It just isn't any fun and it sucks the joy out of all the positive stuff (as your Grammy loves to say.) I want to appreciate living in such a beautifully clean home. I want to celebrate the fact that we have a wonderful supportive family that will gladly come visit us wherever we live. I want to be happy that your daddy stands beside me as we wait.

And here are the bible verses that I want to read and learn and ingrain upon my heart.

Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 "It is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life - this is indeed a gift from God. God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past (or the future!)"

Isaiah 26:7 "But for those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them."

Isaiah 46:10 "Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish."

Isaiah 66:24 "I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!"

Psalm 139:4-5 "You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head."

Matthew 6:27, 34 "Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today."
