Cameron,
Mommy was so excited to do some Christmas shopping for a good cause that we had to go last night. Our church is collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child, which are sent all over the world through the organization Samaritan's Purse. It is an inexpensive way to give a special gift to a child somewhere in the world and tell them about the love of Jesus.
We had so much fun at Target! The dollar sections were great, so we stocked up and got a ton of items for just $25. We are sending a bracelet/necklace set; a notepad; a pencil case with tons of pencils, erasers and colored pencils; some soap with its own plastic tub; toothbrush and toothpaste; a brush and mirror compact; some jelly beans; six pairs of cute socks; some hair clips; and a tiny doll. I think I am also going to print some Christmas coloring sheets and put a special note in too. We chose to send to a 2-4 year old girl, so I even tucked in a cute picture of you so they would know who it came from.
We pray that wherever this ends up, that this little girl would know that she is special and important to God. That she would be happy for the presents, but that she would grow to know Jesus and understand why his love compelled us to send it!

That is awesome that you did that. I did it at our Methodist Church in Burnet and had so much fun with it, like you did.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a beautiful person Katie! Inside, and out! ;)
